Visa Denial

Hello.

Here is my case. I hope you can give me some insights.

I am supposed to go to Europe for two things:
1. To visit by a friend (French) who invited me to spend Christmas in France
2. And to attend a wedding of another friend (Swiss).

The Swiss, the French and I are common friends and we knew each other
here in my country.

So i applied for a Schengen visa at the Franch embassy, with an
attestation d'acceuil from the family of my French friend.

I got denied. (which I thought was a bit insulting and unfair and
confusing). That was almost a month ago.

My question is, can I re-apply again this time at the Swiss embassy?
(with an invitation from my Swiss friend to attend their wedding.)

You can apply for a visa at a Swiss consulate. However, the Swiss consulate will notice that you applied for a Schengen visa earlier and will check with the French consulate what was wrong.

I guess there are no other better options for me than to try the Swiss consulate.
