Hi,
I am a Canadian citizen and I just got a French Visa (Schengen?) through the Canada/France Student Exchange Agreement for a Type 2C Visa.
On the visa it has a hologram at the top left with the EU symbol I presume (stars around a globe), background is watermarked with EUR, says Type D, valid for 3 months, and number of entries "mult".
I have a few questions.
1. On the visa it also says I need to get a carte de sejour. However, I want to travel the first week I am there and thus will not have the carte. Can I travel to other Schengen countries and return? How about to non-Schengen countries like the UK?
2. As a Canadian citizen I know I can travel without a Schengen Visa for 90 days over half a year. So does this mean even without a carte de sejour I should still be able to do the same, or is the fact that i am Canadian and enjoy the ability to travel without a Schegen visa annulled by having the French visa requiring a carte?
Thanks!
