Overstay of 2 days

Hello,

Last time I went to France, in 2005, I had a visa with 15 days of duration
of stay. I stayed there 17 days because of a plane change. I wonder
if this would stop me getting a new visa? Am I banned from Schengen
states?

When you left France, did you have to pay a fine? If you have, then you may be registered into the French visa administation file. In that case, you'd better tell the truth and the reason why you overstayed your visa.

If you were not requested to pay a fine, then, you are not registered and you can apply without any problem.

The officer was very nice, just she smiled and let me go.

So, your overstay was not registered and your visa should not be refused for that reason
