Ask a question about Schengen Visa Empty
MessageSujet: Visa from Philippines to Spain   Ask a question about Schengen Visa EmptyVen 22 Juil à 17:25

I am in the process where my wife will need to solicit a Schengen Visa to travel from her resident country the Philippines to Spain to live with me.

We are gathering the necessary documents for that purpose, although we dont know exactly what they want apart from marriage contract (according to the homepage og the consulate), as they state in the application form that further prove of relationship may be required.

I am under the conviction that we will have to solicit a Schengen Visa for family reagrupation with a EU citizen ( I am danish citizen but spanish resident). However Spain Embassy in Manila does not reply to our mails and the phone is not picked but goet into an answer maschine. The guard at the door at the consulate lets nobody in unless they have an appointment.

I have solicited information at the Norwegian Embassy in Manila, who are the caretakers also of Schengen Visas to Denmark, and from them I understod that what should be solicited is a Schengen Touris Visa !!!!

Now has anyone information of what kind of Schengen Visa we should solicit, because the documents required are different for each type of visa it seems. ?

Also It would be nice to know if anyone knows if the embassy does not have the obligation to respond to inquiries ? or can they really choose to ignore the citizens.

regards

simon

MessageSujet: Re: Ask a question about Schengen Visa   Ask a question about Schengen Visa EmptyVen 22 Juil à 18:38

Dear Sir,

Legally, your wife does need a Schengen Visa as such. She should apply for a family reunion visa (type D). It looks like a Schengen Visa, but it is indeed a national visa issued by Spain for the purpose of family reunion.

I am afraid I can't help you with your technical difficuties with the local consular mission. Patience and kindness are often the keys.

Best regards.

Ask a question about Schengen Visa Empty
MessageSujet: Re: Ask a question about Schengen Visa   Ask a question about Schengen Visa EmptyJeu 19 Jan à 13:15

Hi Sir,
I'm a Philippine Citizen, I am planning to visit my friend in Denmark for just 10 days. I'm planning to get a schengen visa but my problem is one of the requirement here is to have a round trip non refundable ticket to denmark before they will give you the visa. I will be staying in UK for about 30 days and hopefully spend the last 10 days of it in travelling to Denmark then go back to UK for my return flight here in the Philippines. Is it possible to apply for a visa here in the Philippines when my round trip ticket is Manila-London? It is just like a side trip for me in visiting Denmark. Or I will just apply in London for the schengen visa? I prefer to apply here in my own country so that it won't take much of my time during my stay in UK. Thank you very much

Hello,

Applying for a Schengen visa in a country where you don't usually reside is perfectly legal, but it takes normally more time to obtain an answer. I strongly recommand that you apply in your country.

I don't see a problem with you providing a return ticket via London.

Regards.

Thanks for prompt response
Embassy people did told me that it would suffuce, However, some websites mention that D+C is valid in other Schengen states (other than Germany) only during first 3 months. That raised a doubt in my mind. Can you clarify?\

Thanks in advance

Ask a question about Schengen Visa Empty
MessageSujet: Re: Ask a question about Schengen Visa   Ask a question about Schengen Visa EmptySam 11 Mar à 13:47

Hello again,

Your visa is valid concurrently as a uniform short-stay visa for a maximum period of three months from its initial date of validity. It means that during the first three months you may travel to any other Schengen countries. After that, you may only reside in the country that has issued the visa.

However, based on the D visa that you have, you should obtain a temporary resident permit for the duration of your stay in Germany. In which case you don't need a visa anymore to travel within the Schengen area.

Does that clarify your situation ?

Regards.

Martin

Ask a question about Schengen Visa Empty
MessageSujet: Clarification of the remarks on the visa.   Ask a question about Schengen Visa EmptyMar 22 Aoû à 17:44

I've just been issued a BNL visa in a Belgium consulate, a multiple visa valid for 6 mths. As I travel frequently to Belgium on business, I've had many BNL visas in the past couple of years, and all of them had 0 in the remarks field.

My new visa, however, has a BNL 2 and BNL 12 in the remarks field (which I've noticed only after leaving the consulate, so couldn't check with the staff there). What is this remark about? Are there any restrictions that I should be aware of? I'm intending to enter Spain first before going to Belgium, are these remarks limiting the point of entry in any way?

MessageSujet: Re: Ask a question about Schengen Visa   Ask a question about Schengen Visa EmptyMar 22 Aoû à 19:26

Hello,

It means :

BNL 2: visa issued ex officio (the visa was issued by the consulate whithout referring to belgian central authority).

BNL 12: visa issued for ‘professional purposes’.

So, no travel restriction whatsoever.

Regards.

Many thanks for the answers! Can I just clarify, are the remarks in any way significant when crossing the borders? I.e. should I carry with me invitation letters/return tickets etc at all times?

Hello,

You need a Schengen visa for Austria. That visa will allow you to travel in Spain and in Italy.

You may apply in Prague but the procedure might take longer if you are not a permanent resident in that country.

Hi,

I've just been issued a short stay Schengen visa Germany embassy. When I checked it I notice a line of words
"valid for Schengen(-PL)" on top of the visa. My questions are: what's meaning of this? and "can I go to German by holding this visa?"

Thank you.

You acn apply for a Schengen visa if you are un an other country only if you can justify why you did not apply for that visa in your country of usuan residence.

It should not take more than 2 weeks, but you may expect additional delays, bacause the Consulate where you apply would have to check whether you are known to tha consulate competent for your residence.

Hi,

I am the citizen of Azerbaijan. The Embassy of Austria in Baku have issued me a Schengen visa C (business visa) for 26 days stay. I'd like to know what "GVE" in the "remarks" field means.
Just in case I note that this is my 3rd visa of the same type issued by the Austrian Embassy during the last three years.

Thank you in advance,
